fuckyeahtattoos: Stay Strong. Simple. Ordinary. Maybe even Cliche… but not for me. I developed an eating disorder two years ago. One that destroyed ever single bit of my mental sanity, made me lose all but 4 of my friends, and ultimately left me choosing between life or death. My tattoo stands for my strength in the choice of staying alive rather than allowing myself to be a victim of a slow suicide. My tattoo stands for my strength to motivate other people dealing with eating disorders and show them a better life. My tattoo stands for my strength to never cut or burn myself ever again.  I chose typewriter font because the lines are so straight, so perfect. Some people may find the font boring, but I see it as the letters being confined… molded and bound my high expectations. Just like me. Society tells me that I have to be skinny. Dance tells me I have to be skinny to make it. Celebrities show me I have to be skinny to make it. Therefore, I tell myself. I bound myself to this high expectation of perfection. Flawless. It’s impossible. Therefore, it represents me. Pat, from Icon in Murfreesboro, TN, did my tattoo. He was amazing. He comforted me, and for once, I felt alive. I felt at home. I will always go back to him and if you’re in the Nashville area, I definitely recommend him. :)
